1. September 2023
In September 2023, the Indonesian Association of Da’wah Management Scholars (Perkumpulan Ahli Manajemen Dakwah Indonesia – PAMDI) resolved to establish a scholarly journal platform dedicated to accommodating and disseminating academic works produced by lecturers, researchers, and practitioners in the field of Da’wah Management across Indonesia and the international academic community. This initiative was undertaken as a strategic effort to strengthen the development of Da’wah Management as a scientific discipline and to expand opportunities for scholarly communication within the field.
2. March 2024
In March 2024, the development process of the journal platform officially commenced. During this stage, the founding team introduced a journal entitled Indonesian Journal of Islamic Management and Organization. The journal was initially designed to provide a scholarly forum for discussions related to Islamic management, organizational studies, and contemporary issues within Muslim societies.
3. July 2024
In July 2024, three editors appointed by PAMDI convened their third editorial meeting via Zoom to formulate strategies for journal promotion and manuscript acquisition. One of the most significant outcomes of this meeting was the decision to rename the journal as the Indonesian Journal of Da’wah Management Scholars (INDO-JDMS). The editorial board considered the new title to possess a clearer focus and scope, better reflecting the distinctive characteristics of Da’wah Management studies and supporting the advancement of the discipline at both national and international levels.
4. September 2024
By September 2024, INDO-JDMS had successfully received three manuscripts for publication consideration. However, the number of submissions had not yet fulfilled the minimum requirement for the publication of a complete journal issue. Consequently, the editorial board decided to postpone the inaugural publication until a sufficient number of high-quality manuscripts could be secured.
5. March 2025
In March 2025, the editorial team successfully completed the collection of five publishable manuscripts. This achievement enabled the journal to proceed with copyediting, layout preparation, and overall journal development. During this period, the Editor-in-Chief also determined that the inaugural issue, Vol. 01 No. 01 (2025), would be published under the April–October publication cycle.
6. April 2025
On 30 April 2025, the Indonesian Journal of Da’wah Management Scholars (INDO-JDMS) officially published its inaugural issue, Vol. 01 No. 01 (2025). This publication marked an important milestone in PAMDI’s commitment to promoting scholarly research and scientific discourse in the field of Da’wah Management.
7. May–July 2025
Between May and July 2025, INDO-JDMS submitted its application for an Electronic International Standard Serial Number (E-ISSN) through the Indonesian ISSN registration system. During the evaluation process, the journal underwent several revisions to comply with the technical and administrative requirements established by the national ISSN authority. The journal was subsequently registered under E-ISSN 3109-9866, effective from Vol. 01 No. 01 (April 2025).
Within the same period, INDO-JDMS also initiated its indexing process and successfully expanded its visibility through inclusion in several national scholarly databases, particularly GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital), Indonesia’s national indexing platform for academic publications.
8. September 2025
In September 2025, the editorial team of INDO-JDMS participated in various journal management workshops, editorial training programs, and capacity-building activities aimed at improving journal governance, manuscript quality management, and editorial best practices. These initiatives were undertaken to strengthen the journal’s quality assurance mechanisms and to prepare INDO-JDMS for broader international recognition and future inclusion in reputable international indexing databases.
